Despite the million views, the first trailer received more than 281,000 dislikes for the video and only 22,000 people gave thumbs up, according to a popular online tool Return Youtube Dislikes, reports the Daily Mail. This tool which is an internet browser add-on created by Dmitry Selivanov was released following the hiding of the dislike count display on YouTube in November 2021.

Netflix called it "an unprecedented and in-depth documentary series" and the trailers featured the couple's unforeseen pictures and quick glimpses of them opening up about their struggles within and outside the royal family. The second trailer was released on December 5. The documentary will be premiered on Netflix in two installments and will be released on December 8 and December 15. However, netizens have responded to the trailers with comments that are mostly less supportive of the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Internet slammed the streaming giant and the royal couple based on the trailers of their six-part documentary for instances ranging from Meghan crying throughout the videos to calling out the duo for tarnishing the image of the royal family. With mixed reactions, Twitter users dropped their opinions on the release of both the trailers and the depictions contained. A user wrote: "It was broken through heavy use maybe? Netflix has got this badly wrong. These 2 are boring & predictable do-nothings & Netflix has had to remove the dislike button because it hit around quarter of a million. Major flop." replying to another tweet that read "Why did you remove the thumbs down button on the trailer???" Another user wrote: "Bit sick and tired of it all to be honest Dr. They've done nothing but complain for over 2 years now & I'm not sure I want my Netflix subscription funding these two and their 14 bathroomed house." while someone tweeted "This will be an epic fail. I’m so pleased H&M did this. For the past 2-3 days since the trailer has been released Harry & Megs have become parodies of themselves. Not many of us can relate to living in castles & spending millions on clothes & private flights & whine about it." One user tweeted in response to the trailer that: "Utterly disgusting coming from these liars and traitors. This was a work in action when they knew the late Queen was dying and still they went ahead. No doubt more episodes will include more utter lies. I don’t think they know the meaning of the word truth, only their dodgy one"
