"Caddo Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to the area of Lareta St in Keithville’s Pecan Farms area after a tornado touched down.", stated the sheriff's office. Following the tornado, officials found the dead body of the boy after an hour's search and located him near his home in a wooded area. After finding the boy, his 30-year-old mother who went missing was discovered at 2.27 am when the deceased was located one street over from her destroyed home.

The statement explained that "she was located under debris caused by a tornado,” and on December 14, the sheriff's office updated "First responders will continue to search the area for unknown victims. No one else has been reported missing as a result of the storm". The deceased have not yet been identified. 

According to the official statement, two other people, an adult woman and a man were injured in the deadly tornado and were hospitalized. There have been no updates on their health condition.

Steve Prator, the Caddo Parish Sheriff, said, “It’s really a sad, sad situation,” reports the New York Post. "Caddo deputies, K-9 teams, fireman, and volunteers are searching through debris and the area for the missing people. Caddo deputies continue to check the welfare of citizens from house to house," read the statement released by the sheriff's office.

In Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi, one of 18 twisters of the tornado touched down late on December 13 and early on December 14 which caused heavy destruction of the structures and trees in the area, as per the National Weather Service. Blizzard-like conditions were also delivered to the Great Plains.

Outside the Dallas area, several homes and businesses were destroyed and many people were injured. According to meteorologists, more storms are to occur on December 14 in Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Florida Panhandle.
