AUSTIN, TEXAS: In a one-of-its-kind reunion, a Texas dog who had been missing for seven years was found abandoned in a Florida hotel room. Unable to even walk, ‘Jazzy’ is back to its owner’s arm after Orange County Animal Services officers received a report about a dog left behind in a hotel room and responded. According to their Facebook post, the officer at the scene noticed that the dog "could barely walk", apparently from "a bad case of arthritis". However, he still was "extremely sweet and gentle".

The dog’s rescuers believed the dog to be somewhere between 9 and 10 years old, and unlikely to find an adopter due to her health concerns. Interestingly, Orange County Animal Services didn’t have to worry about finding a new home for ‘Jazzy’, as the officers scanned her for a microchip to get possible information about an owner. Fortunately, they did and it led them to Texas. "When we called them, we gave them the surprise of a lifetime," the agency shared on social media about the dog. On the call, the officers found that the dog was a 12-year-old pet, who ran away from home after getting scared of fireworks seven years ago.
