'So happy': Alan Jackson and Denise celebrate becoming first-time grandparents on 43rd wedding anniversary

Last month, the 'Good Time' crooner shared a family photo with his daughters and their significant others, during Thanksgiving. The Jackson family has celebrated a number of significant occasions this year. Mattie shared on Instagram in September that she and Conner Smith, her boyfriend, had become engaged. After losing her first husband, Ben Selecman, in an unfortunate accident in September 2018, the eldest Jackson daughter found love again.

Jackson discussed the legacy he wants to leave behind as his family grows with 'TODAY's Jenna Bush Hager last year. “I’ve always believed that music is the most important thing. The songs. And I guess that’s what I’d like to (leave) if I had a legacy,” Jackson said. His wife, Denise, added, “He’ll have so many songs for our grandchildren and our great-grandchildren to hear and know who he was. To know what was important to him. To get a little touch of our lives together through his music.”

Last month, when Jackson was presented with the CMA Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award, he gave a moving acceptance speech in which he praises his wife and thanked her for supporting him through the years. "As my mama would say, I'm so blessed. I've had a great team around me my whole career that has helped me, great songwriters. I've been so fortunate to have all that to help me get this far. I can't thank everybody who's been in my life all these years, but I do have to say thanks to my wife Denise, over there somewhere," he said.

"We started out as teenagers... I'm probably not always the easiest person to love, but she's been there and helped me through hard times. And we've shared great times. The good, the bad, the happy, and the sad, we've survived a lot. I just want to thank her because she's held me up all these years and she's my best friend. And she gave me a wonderful family over there," he concluded.
