Amar'e Stoudemire: Ex-NBA star charged after he 'whooped' teenage daughter leaving her bleeding

MIAMI, FLORIDA: American-Israeli professional basketball coach, Amar'e Stoudemire is facing a misdemeanor battery charge after he allegedly hit one of his teenage daughters in the face. Stoudemire, 40, was booked early Sunday morning, December 18, in Miami only to be released later from custody.

According to the reports of The Miami Herald, Stoudemire allegedly struck one of his two teenage daughters during an altercation at his Miami home Saturday night. He reportedly hit the girl on the face at least a couple of times, once with a closed fist, which was described by the girl as a punch, and another being a slap. His daughter was left bloodied from the hits and she claimed that Stoudemire continued to strike her body after the blows to her face. The report did not identify which of Stoudemire's two daughters, ages 17 and 14, was hit.

According to the police report, Stoudemire allegedly confronted the girl and accused her of being disrespectful to his mother during a phone call. The girl contacted her mother, Stoudemire's ex-wife, Alexis who came to the home to pick up her four children and contacted police. The report says that when officers went to Stoudemire's home, he told them the teenage girl "was sad because she received a whooping from him for being disrespectful and a liar." He then invoked his right to remain silent.

The former 15-year NBA veteran denied the allegation against him in a statement posted on social media Sunday night. "I could never see myself assaulting any person, especially my children," Stoudemire wrote. "I respect, protect, and love my family, particularly my children. As a father, I ask for your grace as we secure our space and privacy."

MEAWW previously reported that former Chicago Bulls player Ben Gordon was arrested on November 4, for allegedly beating up two security guards at the Rock ‘n’ Roll McDonald’s in Chicago. Chicago Police Department received a call of a disturbance at the fast food joint around 3.28 am, which led to his arrest. Meanwhile, he was also arrested on October 10 after witnesses said he punched his 10-year-old son in the face while they got ready to board a flight to Chicago at LaGuardia Airport. Further, two Port Authority of New York cops and New Jersey police officers were injured during his arrest.

The former player was taken out of the fast-food joint after he punched a male security guard, 29, in the face and threw him to the ground. The reason why he punched the guard is still unknown. Meanwhile, later he also pushed another guard, 21, to the ground, reported New York Post. However, the guards rejected medical treatments and he was charged with two counts of misdemeanor battery. New York Post also revealed that he is no longer under custody.
