In a bombshell announcement, James Gunn, the new creative head of DC Studios, revealed that he is writing a new 'Superman' movie that will primarily focus on the "earlier part" of the character's life.

With this announcement, Gunn also noted that Henry Cavill won't be returning for the role because of the story they are writing. A few moments later, Cavill also shared a heart-breaking statement where he noted that he would always be thankful to play such an iconic character in his career.
