Aquaman reveals his most embarrassing and deadly weakness to The Flash in new DC comic miniseries

Superheroes usually have an iconic weak spot, but Aquaman's hidden weakness is a hundred times more embarrassing than say Superman's kryptonite. The Atlantean hero has been made fun of in the pop culture before, even though he is one of the more notable heroes in comics lore. Now, he might be subject to more jokes after DC fans get their hands on 'Aquaman & The Flash: Voidsong' Part 2. The comic book is the second installment in the special three-issue DC Comics miniseries that sees the two superheroes team up. The first part was released in June, the second part in July and the third issue will be released in August.

We know Aquaman plays the role of a superhero and the king of the undersea nation of Atlantis. His journey shows us just how important these two roles are for him. Apart from the duality of his character, he is seen as someone to have quite a degree of strength. However, we also know that Aquaman has spent most of his life underwater. This can make him seem useless in terrestrial conflicts. 

In 'Aquaman & The Flash: Voidsong' Part 2, Aquaman and the Flash face the alien threat that has taken over Earth. In one scene, as soon as Flash and Aquaman enter an alien spaceship, Flash immediately catches a terrible scent. But Aquaman, on the other hand, reveals that he is unable to smell anything. This shows how Aquaman, who has lived most of his life underwater, has an incredibly underdeveloped sense of smell as a result. It is unclear whether Aquaman has no sense of smell or just an incredibly weak one. This is easily his biggest physical disability and his own personal Achilles heel.

Why is it a weakness you ask? In the superhero life, poison gas is quite a common weapon used in battle, which can often be detected by smell. Thus, the Atlantean hero is far more vulnerable to poison gas attacks. He wouldn't even be able to smell a rag soaked in chloroform and would have to rely entirely on his sense of hearing and quick reflexes to prevent anyone creeping up on him. Like we said, it is a silly enough weakness but dangerous enough to take his life in certain situations. Now, the question is will this canonical weakness also make an appearance in the 'Aquaman' films?
