What color was Gatorade shower at Super Bowl LV? Bettors confused as camera misses iconic detail

What fueled the confusion further was the range of colors and flavors the sports drink comes in. Ahead of the game, the odds on which color Gatorade would be used for the shower on DraftKings Sportsbook showed +125 on orange, +200 for red, +300 on yellow/green/lime, +350 for clear/water, +700 on blue and +800 on purple. 

Soon, a large number of football fans took to Twitter to reveal the actual color of the drink used in the Gatorade shower. Many shared their own screengrabs to prove that the color of the drink was blue, while a few regretted betting on other colors. 

10 Tampa Bay posted, "Who had Bruce Arians getting a blue #Gatorade shower after the @Buccaneers won #SuperBowlLV on their pandemic BINGO card??" However, Twitter was abuzz with confused fans. 

One social media user noted, "One of the more popular Super Bowl side bets is “what colour Gatorade will be poured on the winning coach in celebration?” The broadcast showed it 5 seconds too late and the Twitterverse turned its collective energies to trying to find out. FWIW I had $5 on Orange. It was blue." Another wrote, "I took the national anthem to go over 2mins n 16 secs and took the Gatorade would be blue won both bets lol." One excited fan wrote, "I made my first ever Superb Owl bet: I bet that the Gatorade they soak the coach with would be BLUE. And guess what:" Another said, "I'm glad I left before @ayeeyoo_cfo could prove that it was blue Gatorade in that bih." One said, "I AM SO UPSET SHOW THE GATORADE SHOWER!!!!!!!!!!"

The 2021 Super Bowl halftime show began at around 8 pm ET, approximately 90 minutes after kickoff. Super Bowl LV — played on February 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida — kicked off at 6.30 pm ET.
