LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: It has been nearly 13 years since the 'Clueless' actress was found mysteriously dead in the bathtub of her Hollywood Hills home on December 20, 2009. Even though police suspected no 'foul play' in Brittany Murphy's death, her stepbrother Tony Bertolotti, 74, believes something went awry. Interestingly, Brittany's husband, British screenwriter Simon Monjack, 40, also died in similar circumstances five months later. Tony believes Brittany and Monjack's death was not an accident but they were murdered.
The LA coroner ruled the actress and the screenwriter's death due to pneumonia, anemia, and drug intoxication after dozens of prescription pills were found in both their system, reported The Sun. However, Tony has also expressed his utter disgust at his mother Sharon, who was rumored to be in a relationship with Monjack and was living with the pair at the time. He claims that his mother has been allowed to lay low for over a decade without revealing any answers as to what happened that night and where all of his sister's $10 million fortune went.

Who is Tony Bertolotti?
Tony, a former professional saxophone player who’s played with Bruce Springsteen and Diana Ross, currently lives quietly at his Florida ranch. Tony and Brittany's father Angelo, died in January 2019 at age 92, after spending years trying to uncover his daughter's ill-fated death. Tony revealed it was through his father that he found out there were three people in control of Britany's estate - Sharon, a newspaper editor, and a doctor who was treating her in Miami for diabetes.
Reports also noted that Monjack was accused of siphoning hundreds and thousands of money with her business manager Jeffrey Morgenroth and was written out of the will. The whole estate was later named under Sharon. "I would see it on the statements. There was money being withdrawn by Simon, hundreds of thousands," said Tony. He adds, "Sharon knows the truth and she hasn't picked up the phone with one member of the family and told them the truth. "I’m the elder since my father's gone, and I've heard nothing. As far as I'm concerned, she's worthless to herself and to anybody else."
Tony also claimed that his father did a toxicity report which found impurities in her blood including arsenic. "There’s no way she died of natural causes. It's impossible. It's bulls**t, total crap. It was obvious to me, she was taken out,” reported the source. The 74-year-old has passed up on interview requests from documentary makers saying somebody solid would have to testify to make this case happen, adding that a former butler could be of help. "Somebody would have to come forward with proof and testify. You have to have solid proof of a player,” says Tony. "The guy that's got the real information, is the butler. He knows more than anybody else. He quit because the place was a nuthouse. He confided with my father."
Brittany was found unconscious on her bathroom floor by her mother Sharon at 8 am, with Monjack hearing her screams before he put his wife in the shower in an attempt to revive her. Since then, Tony has placed his suspicion as to why Sharon and Mojack did not take her to the hospital nearby the actress's residence. "All she had to do is go five blocks away and they’d take care of her [at a hospital].” "Why did they put her in a hot shower, that's how you get the temperature up. They knew what the hell they were doing. She’d been dead for a very long time. Why?”
Tony believes his mother since has been living like a recluse and under an alias somewhere in the US adding it's a cover-up. He revealed that his sister's death deeply affected him and he is only seeking justice for her. "When that thing happened to Brittany, things happened to me, I had to go to the doctor, I had to get blood pressure medicine. I’ve now tried to stay away from going crazy, keep calm. I had to stop." He added that if his father had not passed away, he'd be still unveiling the truth behind Brittany's death. "Pop passed away and wasn't able to get any more forward otherwise it would still be moving."
