More than a month after the murders of four University of Idaho students, Ethan Chapin, 20, Xana Kernodle, 20, Madison Mogen, 21, and Kaylee Goncalves, 21, in the early hours of November 13, 2022, the killer still remains a mystery. However, many are brainstorming what really happened that day with the latest being a terrifying 3D animation of the Idaho murder house from the killer's perspective.
Made by a YouTuber, named Gray Hughes, with over 96.1K subscribers, the video shows the layout of the house and displays one of the probabilities of the killer entering the sliding glass door into the kitchen, going to Madison’s room on the second floor, killing her and Kaylee. The animation then shows the killer going downstairs and proceeding toward Ethan and Xana's room and finally exiting from where he came from. Posted on December 17, the video has already garnered more than 30K views with people appreciating the efforts taken by Gray. One commented on the video by saying, "Excellent work, Gray. After reviewing this video in its entirety, the potential path of the killer(s) that morning is much more certain." Another said, "This is brilliant and so helpful for visualizing the possible scenarios."

Describing the details, a user wrote, "It makes you feel like your there. Either the killer came in while everyone was gone and was able to have time to learn who’s room was who’s and got the layout of the house. He then could have hidden in the house until there was no noise knowing they went to sleep, then committing this horrendous crime. Or he was someone who had been in the house before and knew the layout well already." "This is creepy as hell, especially seeing the killer in this animation moving so robotically as if they knew EXACTLY where to go and they were on a mission," said another while one more expressed by saying, "This crime has always been horrific, but the perspective view of this is terrifying on a different level."
