The 37-year-old claimed, "I don't have respect for him [ten Hag] because he doesn't show respect for me." He added, "If you don't have respect for me, I'm never gonna have respect for you," said the player. He added, "Not only the manager, but the other two or three guys who are around the club [at the senior executive level]. I felt betrayed. I don't care, people should listen to the truth. Yes, I felt betrayed. I feel that some people didn't want me here, not only this year but last season too,"

The full episode of the interview will be aired on Wednesday and Thursday on Talk TV at 8 pm. He also claimed during the interview, “If you’re not even a coach, how are you going to be the boss of Manchester United? I’d never even heard of him.” He extensively spoke about the former coach, Sir Alex Ferguson. Cristiano also added, "I followed my heart. He [Ferguson] said to me, 'It's impossible for you to come to Manchester City,' and I said, 'OK, Boss'," reported The Sun.

Further, he stated, "The progress was zero. Since Sir Alex left, I saw no evolution in the club. Nothing had changed. He [Ferguson] knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be. He knows. Everyone knows. The people who don't see that. It's because they don't want to see; they are blind," reported ESPN.

The football legend said, "Nothing changes. Not only the jacuzzi, the pool, even the gym. Even some points of technology, the kitchen, the chefs - who I appreciate, lovely people! They stop in time which surprised me a lot," reported Sky Sports. The 37-year-old claimed, "I thought I would see different things, technology, infrastructure. Unfortunately, we see many things I'm used to seeing when I'm 21, 22, 23. It surprised me a lot."

"I think the fans should know the truth, I want the best for the club. This is why I came to Manchester United. But you have some things inside that don't help [us] reach the top level as City, Liverpool, and even now Arsenal...a club with this dimension should be at top of the tree, in my opinion, and they are not, unfortunately," Cristiano added.

However, the Portuguese player said, "As Picasso said, you have to destroy it to rebuild it (the artist's exact quote was: 'Every act of creation is first an act of destruction'), and if they start with me, for me, it's not a problem. I love Manchester United, I love the fans, they're always on my side. But if they want to do it differently… they have to change many, many things."

He later revealed what Ferguson thought of United's current situation "He knows better than anybody that the club is not on the path they deserve to be. He knows. Everyone knows. The people who don't see that… it's because they don't want to see; they are blind." Meanwhile, Cristiano also spoke of Wayne Rooney, "I don't know why he criticizes me so badly...probably because he finished his career and I'm still playing at a high level. I'm not going to say that I'm looking better than him. Which is true..."

'Thank you for existing Cristiano'

The Internet quickly reacted to Cristiano's statement. A user said, "What is Cristiano Ronaldo? He’s life, he’s everything that matters for me, I put him before my family, beliefs and work. He’s the sole purpose of my life. Thank you for existing Cristiano." "Cristiano Ronaldo is the GOAT," claimed another. A user added, "What people failed to see about Ronaldo is his very selfish attitude. He doesn't care about the team he cares only about his records, career and achievements. The main reason he made the move from juve to man UTD was to not allow Messi steal/enjoy the timeline alone."

Meanwhile, a user said, "You are not a United fan, but a Ronaldo fan and right now that is very different." A user stated, "I support Ronaldo." Another added, "He didn't care about manutd and he used them as a stepping stone to move to Madrid, you re sounding like he was the best player around when he moved to manutd, or his agent was the late raiola .... Bro try dey reason something before you post." A user claimed, "Told United fans at the start. Ronaldo is all about ONE thing and ONE thing only, HIMSELF. He didn’t care about Man United the first time. Used them as stepping stone to get his dream move to Real Madrid. When Perez wouldn’t pay him as much as Barca paid Messi." Another added, "GOATS deserve far more RESPECT!."
