Details about the discovery in New Boston are limited, but we do know that David was arrested after a welfare check was made, prompted by a call from an out-of-state relative. Here's everything we know about the case so far. 

Horror discovery in New Boston

Police came to David's home on the 1200 block of South Merrill on March 30, after a request for a welfare check. When they asked David if he knew why there were at his home, he reportedly said, "it was because he had a body in his kitchen". He claimed that the remains were of his son, Jason, who passed away in May 2018. The dad was immediately arrested on the charge of abuse of a corpse. 

The remains were taken to the Southwest Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas for identification and autopsy, as police are unclear if Jason died of natural causes, or was killed. David was arrested without incident and booked into the Bi-State Jail. It's unclear what the situation of Jason's mother is, but it appears the family was unaware of his passing. One woman, named Amber Nicole Hines took to Facebook to say Jason's death was "more than likely" from natural causes.

According to Hines, Jason had a "handicap condition he had that made him have to be cared for 24/7." She claimed that multiple welfare checks had been called on the home over the years, the last being in 2020. Surprisingly, at that time, both Jason and David were "seen outside their home", which contradicts the claim that Jason died in 2018. Another woman commented that the claim the duo was seen outside in 2020 was not true. 

No missing person report was filed by David, indicating he was aware of Jason's passing. Beyond the arrest and discovery, no details are available for either Jason or David. So far, we also don't know why the father decided to keep his son's remains in the kitchen.
