'Bulls**t card': Demna Gvasalia's apology slammed for not resigning amid Balenciaga ad campaign row
PARIS, FRANCE: Netizens have caused an uproar and slammed Balenciaga's creative director Demna Gvasalia's apology after he stays in his role and did not resign. The global Fashion house, Balenciaga sparked an alarming controversy after the brand released bizarre pictures of its latest campaign featuring children. The campaign featured children wearing branded t-shirts while holding stuffed bear bags styled with BDSM harnesses.
But Internet sleuths were appalled after they noticed the ad campaign included a “poorly hidden” document about “virtual child porn” while the children posed around empty wine and champagne glasses. Many users took a dig at Demna who was known as the "darling of the fashion industry" and was credited for boosting the profits of Balenciaga's parent group, Kering, by $1 billion. In the fashion heads defense, he released a public apology on Friday, December 2, promising to "do better" and vowing to work with children's protection organizations.
