Beyonce’s single ‘Alien Superstar’ has given credits to 24 songwriters including all the samples but this was something Diane Warren probably did not understand. She took to Twitter and asked, “How can there be 24 writers on a song?” along with an eye-rolling emoticon. Warren then followed up with another tweet, “This isn’t meant as shade, I’m just curious.” A few hours later Warren, who has failed to win a single Oscar out of her 13 nods, again took to Twitter and shared, “Ok, it’s prob samples that add up the amount of writers.”
 
Apologizing to Beyonce, she then posted, “Ok, I meant no disrespect to @Beyonce, who I've worked with and admire. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.” The-Dream, who collaborated with Beyoncé on Renaissance shared his two cents on the situation tweeting, “You mean how’s does our (Black) culture have so many writers, well it started because we couldn’t afford certain things starting out, so we started sampling and it became an Artform, a major part of the Black Culture (hip hop) in America. Had that era not happen who knows. U good?”  

‘She’s a songwriter she should know why’

Social media users flocked to Twitter to slam Diane Warren as one of the users posted, “Ok, but what did you want with that tweet anyway? because sample is something that anyone in the music industry knows, and should know that everyone involved needs to be credited.” One chimed in, “Diane honey, these were your dead eyes after knowing you just lost your 13th oscar nom that you desperately wanted to a brother sister duo. Maybe it’s time to pick up the phone and call some writers.”
 
“She’s a songwriter she should know why”, said an individual as another stated, “Someone send her to a nursing home already.” The next one tweeted, “She should question cardi’s writing credits instead.” And, one chimed in, “Dianne Warren has one of the greatest pens ever. She can say what she wants about songwriting. Too bad she chose to be shady towards Beyoncé. On this platform. She’ll never win that battle lmao.” And, one concluded, “We haven’t learned one song fully on the album yet and already we have to deal with ableism and Dianne Warren. @Beyonce I see why you don’t like us!”
