The series has been dominating the headlines since the day it was announced by the US streaming giant. Before dropping the explosive documentary, Netflix released two trailers that saw the royal couple revealing that they had little defense against royal officials, and as part of a "dirty game," aides deliberately leaked information and "fabricated stories" against them. Meghan said, "I realized, they're never going to protect you" after a series of clips of photographers and newspapers. She is then seen crying before Harry, adding, "I was terrified, I didn't want history to repeat itself."

The footage instantly caught viewers' attention and made them question why she was filming herself while having these deep discussions. "Who records themselves having these deep discussions? It seems so set up and planned for a tv special. Ridiculous and sad #HarryandMeghanNetflix," one user tweeted. Second user wrote "Always a camera near." Whilst, another user said "what I thought in the 1st 5 mins of the show! Why do they have recordings when they stepped down. It seems it was part of their exit strategy…."

If the reports are to be believed, the couple had been relentlessly trying to push back the release date of the series to 2023. It was also revealed that the streaming giant has paid the couple a rumored $100 million (£ 88 million) for the fierce documentary. Their series, which was released on December 8 has now garnered mixed reactions from the viewers.

A source also revealed that King Charles and Prince William are prepared to respond to any unfair charges in the series with a "quick and strong" statement, although Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are not likely to see it personally. "There's a real feeling in the camp that Harry and Meghan are making a lot of noise and there isn't much more to say. But preparations are being made for all outcomes, especially if there are unjust accusations being made," the insider told Mirror.

Meanwhile, a royal expert claimed that King Charles would be "triggered" to revoke Harry and Meghan’s royal titles if they "directly attack" the Princess of Wales in their series. "The King does have that sanction, or maybe they will try to never explain, never respond to it. I think it would be hard for them to do that," Micheal Cole said, according to Daily Mail. "What will trigger that is if there are direct attacks on his [Prince William's] wife Catherine, the Princess of Wales, I think that might trigger it," he added.
