A railing along FedEx Field's north tunnel collapsed, sending many spectators to the ground and almost knocking down Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts as he went off the field. Following the Washington Football Team's 20-16 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, the event occurred after most players had left the field and many supporters had left the stadium. Hurts was returning to the visitors' locker room after completing on-field interviews when a group of Eagles supporters greeted him along the tunnel railing.

Washington Football Team said in a statement, “The Washington Football Team is aware of an incident in the North Field Tunnel following today’s game. To our knowledge, everyone involved was offered onsite medical evaluation and left the stadium of their own accord. We’re very glad no one appears to have been seriously injured. The safety of our fans and guests is of the utmost importance and we are looking into what occurred.” The area where the fence fell, according to a Washington team official, is the stadium's ADA-accessible section, which is meant to seat up to six wheelchairs and six companions but is not designed to bear a full load of people. The crew did not explain why there were so many people in the part before the barrier fell.
