NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: CBS News became a laughing stock recently after quitting Twitter only to rejoin it within hours. On Friday evening, November 18, Jonathan Vigliotti, CBS News national correspondent, shared, “In light of the uncertainty around Twitter and out of an abundance of caution, CBS News is pausing its activity on the social media site as it continues to monitor the platform.”
The official account of KPIX, the CBS-owned station based in San Francisco, also tweeted, “In light of the uncertainty around Twitter and out of an abundance of caution, CBS News Bay Area is pausing its activity on the social media site as we continue to monitor the platform.” However, the boycott did not last long as less than 48 hours later, a new statement was issued by the company, as per Louder with Crowder.
