LOOK WHO'S BACK! Internet braced for the worst after Elon Musk restores Donald Trump's Twitter account
Elon Musk has allowed former president Donald Trump's Twitter account to be restored following votes by people on social media. Users on Twitter voted 52% to 48% to allow Trump's return to the platform. Musk tweeted, "The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei." Trump's account, which had been blocked, reappeared on Twitter on Sunday, November 20, just after Musk said he was lifting the 22-month suspension on the former president. "The people have spoken. Trump will be reinstated. Vox Populi, Vox Dei," Musk tweeted.
The 24-hour poll garnered over 15 million votes. Musk had notably restored accounts tied to conservative media personality Jordan Peterson and the satirical website Babylon Bee in the past. It is, however, not certain that Trump will choose to be back on Twitter. He has said that he had "a lot of problems at Twitter” and wishes to stick to his own media house. "I hear we’re getting a big vote to also go back on Twitter. I don’t see it because I don’t see any reason for it,” Trump told the Republican Jewish Coalition meeting in Las Vegas via video link. "It may make it, it may not make it.”
