Emmy Nominations 2022: NBC's 'This is Us' snub has fans aghast, 'How do you ignore this?'
NBC's hit drama 'This is Us' had fans crying. Again. This time the reason wasn't the show, but its snub when the Emmy Nominations 2022 were announced on Tuesday. The show received more than 35 nominations at the Emmy Awards since its first season run in 2016, but the final season failed to make the cut leaving fans of the show devastated.
The shows nominated for Best Outstanding Drama included 'Better Call Saul' (AMC), 'Euphoria' (HBO), 'Ozark' (Netflix), 'Severance' (Apple TV+), 'Squid Game' (Netflix), 'Stranger Things' (Netflix), 'Succession' (HBO), and 'Yellowjackets' (Showtime). The HBO series received only one nomination for outstanding original music and lyrics, and also saw actress Mandy Moore missing out on the nominations.
"Everyone from This Is Us should've gotten nominated based on "The Train" alone especially Mandy Moore. Are you kidding me?? #Emmys #TheEmmys," one of the tweets read. This was seconded by another who wrote, "i just feel so bad for this is us writers and the cast, especially mandy moore. i'm pretty sure the academy never saw that series cause how can you watch the last season and not nominate mandy moore? it's very baffling to me." Another said: "I’m not even a #ThisIsUs diehard & I’m confounded by the snub. The show & Mandy were worthy of recognition for the work in the final season. They couldn’t even find a “sentimental” nom . Mandy should be in Reese’s spot, and This Is Us should be in Euphoria’s. #Emmys"
