Emmy Nominations 2022: Fans hail ‘Stranger Things’ 13 nods but can't bear Sadie Sink snub
What wasn't surprising was 'Stranger Things' Season 4 nominated for 13 Primetime Emmy nominations, what was, was the snub of the show's lead actors, Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby Brown. Both actors were ignored for best lead actor roles and that caused the uproar on social media.
The hit Netflix show made the cut for Best Outstanding Drama alongside 'Better Call Saul' (AMC), 'Euphoria' (HBO), 'Ozark' (Netflix), 'Severance' (Apple TV+), 'Squid Game' (Netflix), 'Stranger Things' (Netflix), 'Succession' (HBO), and 'Yellowjackets' (Showtime). Neither Sink or Brown made the cut for the lead actress in drama that included, Patricia Arquette ('Severance'), Julia Garner ('Ozark'), Jung Ho-Yeon ('Squid Game'), Christina Ricci ('Yellowjackets'), Rhea Seehorn ('Better Call Saul'), J. Smith-Cameron ('Succession'), Sarah Snook ('Succession') and Sydney Sweeney ('Euphoria').
"these girls have been acting their hearts out since they were babies to get snubbed because of SYDNEY SWEENEY OF ALL PEOPLE," one of the tweets read. "Sadie worked her ass off this season and she deserves better," another echoed the sentiment. "Especially Sadie Sink her performance this season was fantastic! The whole cast should be nominated. @Stranger_Things," a fan tweeted. "THIS IS A ROBBERY AND WE ALL KNOW IT. SADIE SINK DESERVED THAT NOMINATION, EVEN MORE THAN SOME OF THE NOMINEES. THIS IS SO UNFAIR," a comment said. "Maybe people should stop placing value on golden statues. The love and admiration of their fans is all they need for recognition," a tweet said.
