FAYETTEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: LSU freshman linebacker Harold Perkins created a historic day and led the No 7 Tigers to their eighth win of the season during an NCAA college football game on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Perkins, a former five-star recruit, had eight tackles, four sacks and two forced fumbles as he sealed the win against Arkansas, reports SI. What made his game more impressive to watch was that he played with the flu during LSU's 13-10 win over the rival. LSU coach Brian Kelly said, as quoted by ESPN, "He got sick before the game. He threw up as we were going into our team meeting."

Adding further, Kelly decsribed, "I said 'Hey, you know MJ threw up when he had his greatest game.' And (Perkins) said 'Who's MJ?' I was like 'Man, I'm getting so old.'" In 1997 NBA Finals, Michael Jordan, while he was sick, scored 38 points in 44 minutes and made Chicago Bulls lead by a 3-2 against Utah Jazz. Kelly also tweeted, "Not much else to say about Harold Perkins. His performance was one of the best I’ve seen by a freshman. He willed this team to victory today." Draft analyst Mike Detillier too said this week on WWL radio, as quoted by Nola, “I’ve never seen a defensive player at LSU that has made that type of impact — maybe Honey Badger, maybe — at that stage. But no one else is in the zip code of what we’ve seen with Harold Perkins.”
