After the win, third-ranked Wisconsin’s record was raised to 19-3 overall and 13-1 in the Big Ten. It was thus pulled back into a first-place tie with Ohio State. 

The victory comes days after private nude photos and videos of the women’s volleyball team were leaked. The University of Wisconsin-Madison Police Department said in a statement to the Daily Mail that authorities are dealing with a “unique case”. “This is a unique case because of the high profile of the girls involved and our detectives are working on this case as a priority,” Lovicott said in the statement. “Our department has worked on cases like this before but many of them involve people threatening to put intimate photos online – blackmail. Nothing like that is suspected in this case and again, this case is unique because of the high profile of the players.”

Police confirmed that the player whose phone was responsible for 40 leaked photos and videos is not being suspected and does not know how the content got published online. The photos and videos that were leaked were reportedly taken in the aftermath of the Badgers’ national championship win last December.

The team, however, emerged strong and victorious despite the difficulties, and social media is impressed. "This match was a tremendous learning experience & an awesome opportunity to expose, address & then correct a few dents in our armor. Thanks IN for the push! It was fun & come tournament time, the Badgers will be even more ready! " one user wrote on Twitter. "Way to go ladies to show their grit and come back. Ref challenges were awful to take so long. If it takes that long to decide, then it wasn’t obvious, irrefutable video. That ref should get feedback from the B10," wrote another.

The team that wins this conference (hopefully us) will be battle-tested and ready," one user wrote, while another said, "Every win in the brutal B1G is a win you cherish, never apologize for, and look at the film, and get ready for the next match." "This is what great teams do. They have an off day, but still find a way, somehow, to win," wrote one user.
