LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Donald Glover is set to become a part of the ‘Spider-Man’ universe as a new title is in the works with Glover in the lead role. Glover, who is also known by his stage name Childish Gambino, is one of the most accomplished artists working in the industry right now and has won several accolades for his stupendous work. However, playing a pivotal role in the world of Marvel comic-book characters might be one of the biggest achievements of his professional career.

The actor will be starring as super-villain Hypno-Hustler in a movie that he will be producing for Sony. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the next project in the production house’s ‘Spider-Man’ universe will primarily focus on the aforementioned super-villain. This will be the first time that Glover will be seen in a major role within the web-slinger’s universe. However, this is not the first time the ‘Atlanta’ star will be seen in a ‘Spider-Man’ project.

Apart from Glover, Myles Murphy, son of Eddie Murphy, is attached to write the movie, which has no title as of yet.

As far as Hypno-Hustler is concerned, Hypno-Hustler was a part of a band that was supposed to perform at the nightclub called ‘Beyond Forever’. Using his specialized goggles and the hypnotic singing of the Mercy Killers, Hustler placed the audience in a trance. A fight took place between Spider-Man and Hustler, which ended with Hustler being taken away by police. The supervillain uses Hypnotic Guitar which produced sound waves at a level where he could hypnotize people. To be safe, he made specialized headphones that protected him from his own hypnotic music. On the other hand, he has special boots made for him that can emit knockout gas on demand, and have retractable knives in the soles.

Although he is considered to be a supervillain, Hypno Hustler is not one of the fan favorites and is often included in lists of worst comic-book villains.

As soon as the news surfaced online, fans flooded social media with extraordinary comments across several platforms. Meanwhile, people were happy about Glover’s involvement, and a lot of people requested the production house to not waste such opportunities to make movies on side characters. One of the fans wrote, “SONY JUST BECAUSE THE VENOM MOVIES WORKED DOES NOT MEAN YOU GET TO MAKE MOVIES FOR ANY SPIDERMAN VILLAIN THAT NOBODY CARES ABOUT PLEASE STOP I BEG OF YOU.” Another fan noted, “Sony carefully finding the most obscure Spider-Man villains to make mid-anti-villain spinoffs of.”

“Sony please… no more Spider-Man spin-offs. Just give the rights back to marvel studios. I can’t take this anymore,” another fan noted. “Seems like a waste of his time. I hate the idea of him making something where’d he be constricted bc of SpiderMan rules or corporation notes or some s**t,” tweeted another fan.

Hypno-Hustler is the latest character to join the world of comic-book characters handled by Sony Pictures. This is the latest Spider-Man character to get a feature film from Sony, which already has ‘Venom’ and ‘Morbius’. Meanwhile, movies like ‘Kraven The Hunter’ and ‘Madame Webb’ will be released in 2023 and 2024 respectively.
