Teen football player killed, 4 others injured after two gunmen open fire outside Philadelphia school

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: A football player was killed and four others were injured after two men ambushed them and opened fire outside Roxborough High School in Philadelphia on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. The incident took place around 4:30 pm on the 300 block of Fairway Terrace after the football scrimmage ended between Roxborough High School, Northeast High School, and Boys Latin Charter School.

According to investigators, two gunmen attacked a group of five players from a Ford Explorer as they were walking off the field, ABC7 reported. A 14-year-old boy who was shot succumbed to his injuries, police confirmed. Two others, a 14-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, were also shot. They were taken to an area hospital in stable condition. A fifth player suffered a graze wound in the attack. All the injured victims attended Roxborough High School. No arrests have been made in the case yet and anyone with information has been urged to call police at 215-686-TIPS.
