It was also announced that a scholarship has been established in the name of Friedkin at Youngstown State University.

"A scholarship has been established in Gary’s name at YSU. Attention will be given to those with a disability or a concentration in the performing arts," the obituary added.

Born on November 23, 1952, Friedkin made a decision to start his career in acting when he moved to Los Angeles and made his on-screen debut with 1981's 'Under the Rainbod'. The actor received a lot of recognition for his work in titles such as 'Young Doctors in Love' and 'Happy Days'. His performance in the aforementioned projects would make him a household name and he quickly became one of the brightest talents working in the industry.

Friedkin went on to make appearances in high-end ventures like 'Twilight Zone', 'Blade Runner', and 'Star Wars: Return of the Jedi'.

Apart from acting, Friedkin was also an active member of Little People of America. The actor, who was 4 feet and 11 inches in height, attended many conventions in the US and kept on helping people.

His obituary states that the actor lived his life to the "fullest" and brought endless laughs to his family and the people he loved.

"Gary lived his life to the absolute fullest, bringing endless laughs to his family and many friends, while never letting the obstacles he faced get in his way. Gary put countless smiles on people's faces," his obituary reads in part.

A celebration of his life will be held in the spring of 2023.
