Are you ready Upper East Siders? Everyone's favorite show 'Gossip Girl' is returning to our screens with a reboot.
The early 2000s hit series will premiere on the forthcoming HBO Max, a streaming platform. The reboot series will consist of 10 episodes, each ranging up-to an hour long. The series will revolve around a young and new generation of prep-school teens.
While there is still a long time left before the reboot premieres, here's everything you need to know about the forthcoming reboot of 'Gossip Girl.'
Release date:
There is no definitive release date yet but the series is scheduled to premiere sometime in May 2020 on HBO Max.
Plot:
According to a press release, the series revolves around, "Eight years after the original website went dark, a new generation of New York private school teens are introduced to the social surveillance of Gossip Girl. The prestige series will address just how much social media — and the landscape of New York itself — has changed in the intervening years."
Cast:
There were talks about the original cast returning, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester did reveal that they are open to the idea of a revival so we might get to see them appear in the reboot. But the series will be centered on a new set of teenagers. While not a lot of information has been revealed about the cast of the series, it was recently revealed that Kristen Bell will be returning to the show as the narrator, the voice of Gossip Lady.
