HBO Max's 'Green Lantern': The 6 non-Green Lantern Corps ranked!

6. Agent Orange

The Orange Lantern is powered by the orange light of greed. This "corps" ranks at the bottom of our list because it consists of only one very greedy guy called Larfleeze and his ghost buddies. Larfleeze is what you would get if you took an alien version of Ebenezer Scrooge and gave him Green Lantern powers. Granted he's immensely powerful and anyone he kills becomes a part of his army of constructs.  

5. Sinestro Corps

After he left the Green Lantern Corps behind, Thaal Sinestro harnessed the yellow light of fear to create his own lantern corps. The Sinestro Corps is basically a yellow version of the Green Lanterns and as such, they rank low on our list but they are also the most likely to be featured in the 'Green Lantern' show since the fear-based lanterns have been a part of far too many important stories to be ignored.

4. Star Sapphires

While the Guardians of the Universe harnessed the power of will and created the Green Lantern Corps, their female counterparts the Zamarons used the violet light of love to create the Star Sapphires, an army of (mostly) women who were spurned by their lovers.

Initially, they started out looking like a bunch of cheerleaders but over the years they have proven to be powerful allies and occasional enemies of the Green Lanterns. The most prominent member of this corps is Carol Ferris, Hal Jordan's longtime girlfriend, which means that the Star Sapphires are likely candidates for inclusion in the HBO Max series.

3. Indigo Tribe

These compassion-powered lanterns were created by Abin Sur (the legendary Green Lantern whose ring Hal Jordan inherited) when Sur discovered that the indigo light could make even the most hardened criminals feel compassion and remorse for their crimes. All the Indigo Tribesmen are former criminals who are made good by the indigo light, which means that if their connection to the light of compassion were ever to be cut, they would revert to being the savage villains they were before.

This cosmic Suicide Squad is led by Indigo, who was once the criminal known as Iroque before Abin Sur turned her into his very first Indigo Lantern. While they're not as likely to be a part of the series right at the beginning, they could play a part in the show if it were to develop into a multi-season project. 

2. Red Lantern Corps

Led by Atrocitus of the Five Inversions, the Red Lanterns are fueled by the power of rage, which poisons their blood with hate and turns it into a napalm-like substance. Atrocitus is the only Red Lantern with control of his senses and the ability to make constructs, though he seldom does.

Despite being a horde of mindless rage monsters, the Red Lanterns are formidable enemies of both the Green Lanterns and the Sinestro Corps and their animal ferocity makes them deadly in battle. 

1. Blue Lantern Corps

The Blue Lanterns were created by the rogue Guardians Ganthet and Sayd who harnessed the blue light of hope to prepare for the cataclysmic event called 'Blackest Night'. When they are around a Green Lantern, the Blues are practically gods, capable of impressive feats like reviving a dying star.

Without the green light of will, hope is meaningless and therefore the Blue Lanterns are much less powerful without the GLs around but that's not to say they're any less cool. The blue light overcomes fear, cures greed and wipes away rage, making the Blue Lanterns capable of easily taking on most of the other corps. The Green Lanterns may be the stars of their world, but the Blues could certainly give them a run for their money.

'Green Lantern' doesn't have an official release date yet but it should be arriving on HBO Max sometime in 2020 or 2021.
