An audition clip of One Direction recently went viral after ‘The X Factor UK’ shared how the former members came together to form the supergroup. The clip was shared to mark the now disbanded squad’s 12 years. Now, a new clip was shared in which a 16-year-old Harry Styles is seen trying his luck in front of the judges.

The footage shows a young and cheeky Harry Styles with his signature curly hairdo singing the cover of Train’s iconic song ‘Hey, Soul Sister’. Simon Cowell at first seems a bit unimpressed as he gives him another chance with an acapella. The aspiring singer at the time then croons Stevie Wonder's ‘Isn't She Lovely’ to secure a spot on the show. Social media users were quick to react to the unseen footage from the show. Many demanded the audition clips of other former One Direction members namely Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Zayn Malik.

Harry Styles’ unseen audition clip goes viral

Trying to break the ice, judge Simon Cowell is seen asking about Harry’s hometown of Holmes Chapel and his then job at a bakery in the clip. Harry then finally gets to singing saying, “Mum's always told me I'm a good signer, and so have my friends.”  A confident Harry then goes on to cover ‘Hey, Soul Sister’ which does not really leave the judges impressed.

“Hey, Soul Sister? To be honest, he's drowned out by the music and pitchy. It's just not very good,” Cowell says in the clip as he gives him another shot, adding, “I don't know whether it's the track that's throwing you, but can I hear something just you, without any music?" Harry then goes on to sing an acapella that gives him a “no” from judge Louis Walsh but “yes” from Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell. Harry Styles, along with Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan, had auditioned as solo artists. They later came together to form the popular boy band One Direction.
