Prior to posting a more intimate homage to McVie, Stevie Nicks posted the initial remark to her Twitter account. In her second eulogy, Nicks said she didn't find out about the illness of her "best friend" until November 25. She was told to wait and watch over her health despite her wanting to fly to London right away to be by her side. “A few hours ago I was told that my best friend in the whole world since that first day in 1975 had passed away. I didn't even know she was ill until Saturday night. I wanted to get to London - but we were told to wait... Since Saturday, one song has been swirling in my head over and over, I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her, and I'm singing it to her now. See you on the other side, my love.”

The British-American rock group was among the best-selling musical acts of all time, selling 100 million records worldwide. In addition to Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joining Fleetwood Mac in the middle of the 1970s, McVie also joined the band in 1971 which helped the group grow even more successful. ‘Don't Stop’, ‘Say You Love Me’, ‘You Make Loving Fun’, ‘Songbird’, ‘Little Lies’ and ‘Hold Me’ are among her well-known songs. She and bassist John divorced in 1976 but she continued to compose music for the group until she retired in 1998 due to her father's death as per Daily Mail. After a protracted 15-year sabbatical, she enjoyed a successful solo career and then joined forces with her former bandmates in 2013. For her solo music compilation ‘Songbird’, McVie was nominated for a Grammy award only two weeks back. The prize's announcement is scheduled for February 5, 2023.

After her untimely demise, McVie’s fans sent their tributes to the late singer on Twitter as one user said, "RIP Christine McVie.
