How did Jeff Gladney die? Tributes pour in as Arizona Cardinals cornerback dies at 25
Arizona Cardinals cornerback Jeff Gladney, a former first-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings, died on Monday at the age of 25 following a car accident in Dallas. The news was confirmed by his agent Brian Overstreet. "We are asking prayers for the family and privacy at this most difficult time," Overstreet said in a statement to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
The cause of the crash and Gladney's death remain under investigation. However, according to NY Post, a 26-year-old female passenger in the car also died.
Gladney is the second young NFL star killed in a motor vehicle accident this year. Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was struck by a car while crossing a highway on foot in Florida.
