Internet backs Elon Musk as Time's Person of the Year, says 'Liz Cheney should not be considered for it'
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: The Time magazine has revealed the shortlist for its 2022 Person of the Year on NBC's 'Today Show' on Monday, December 5. The finalists include Ron DeSantis, Liz Cheney, King Charles, and Elon Musk, who was named Time’s 2021 Person of the Year, before taking over Twitter. Time's selection will be announced on Wednesday, December 7.
Explaining it in 2021, Time editor-in-chief and CEO Edward Felsenthal told, “Person of the Year is a marker of influence, and few individuals have had more influence than Elon Musk on life on Earth, and potentially life off Earth too. Time emphasizes that its annual acknowledgment is not an award, but rather, a recognition of the person who had the most influence on the events of the year, for good or for ill," as per Fox9.
