It WASN'T a blind date: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle slammed for lying about how they first met
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Harry & Meghan' has been taking the world by storm. Featuring never-before-seen videos and images of the royal couple, the eight-episode Netflix series captures the Duke and Duchess of Sussex talking about their love story, reflecting on how they met, who proposed to whom, etc. In one segment of the series, the royal couple revealed their previous claims that they met on a blind date weren't entirely true.
In a joint interview following their engagement in 2018, Meghan and Harry admitted to being set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. "We were introduced, actually, by a mutual friend - we'll protect her privacy - but it was literally through her and we met once and then twice, back to back,” Harry said, according to the Mirror. When asked whether it was a set-up, the couple said, "Yes, it was definitely a set-up - it was a blind date."
