Who is Naia Giambi?

Naia Giambi, wife of Giambi has always stayed away from the limelight and made sure she provided full support to his career and future ambitions. Even though Naia tried maintaining her anonymity, Giambi often referred to her value and support in many interviews. However, information about Naia and their life together is limited online and almost next to none. 

Naia is reportedly well-educated and is into nutrition. Naia was a supportive wife to her husband but has done an excellent job in keeping her private matters away from the media. Giambi and Naia had never spoken about having children or have disclosed any details about their children. It was not just Naia, Giambi also stayed away from social media and fame, once he retired from professional baseball and other celebrity events.

Talking about Giambi's career records, he had fetched and achieved the impossible!  He was able to don jerseys of different teams in a very short period, earning a .263 batting average and hitting 52 home runs and 209 runs batted in. His best season came in 2001 when he played in 124 games and had 12 homers. He's perhaps best known for being thrown out at home plate by Derek Jeter's cutoff flip during the 2001 ALDS. He finished his career in 2003 with 52 home runs and 209 RBIs.

The Oakland A's issued a statement on Jeremy's death, saying ... "We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of a member of our Green and Gold family, Jeremy Giambi. We offer our condolences to Jeanne, Jason, and his family and friends." Giambi is the brother of Jason -- the American League MVP in 2000, who played for the Athletics, Yankees, Rockies and Indians.

Interestingly, Giambi had a connection to the film 'Moneyball' which had a starstudded cast that was led by Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill. In the film, Giambi was portrayed by Nick Porrazzo. The 2011 film was about the former Oakland Athletics manager Billy Beane, who now serves as the executive vice president of the club. The film, which is based on a true story, included a number of famous celebrities portraying real-life pros and Giambi was one among them. 

There was also a black mark on Giambi's career after in a 2005 interview with the Kansas City Star, the player admitted to using steroids during his playing career. “It’s something I did,” Giambi told the Star. “I apologize. I made a mistake. I moved on. I kind of want it in the past.”
