WASHINGTON, DC: Poland reportedly revealed on early Wednesday, November 16, that they were attacked by two Russian-made missiles in the eastern part of the country on Tuesday. The blast killed two people and it officially marked the first time that Russian weapons came down on a NATO country since the invasion of Ukraine. After the tragedy, President Joe Biden spoke to Polish President Andrzej Duda to offer condolences and support and to remain in "close touch to determine appropriate next steps as the investigation proceeds."

The attack forced the country to gather for an emergency meeting and discuss the country's defenses. There were talks of invoking Article 4 of the NATO charter under which members confer when a nation’s territorial integrity or security has been threatened. Biden has been vocal about his anti-Putin stand and this time again, he declared America's support. Biden took to his Twitter to share the news of his recent meet-up and the future actions that the country is planning in support of Poland. He tweeted, "I spoke with President Andrzej Duda of Poland to express my deep condolences for the loss of life in Eastern Poland and offer our full support for Poland's investigation of the explosion. We will remain in close touch to determine appropriate next steps as it proceeds." The support, however, has generated mixed reactions from citizens.
