Joe Budden took to his podcast claiming Megan Thee Stallion, who accused rapper Tony Lanez of allegedly shooting her in the foot during a heated argument outside of Kylie Jenner's house party in July 2020, has done “horrible things to some really great people” that he has a long-standing relationship in this industry. Following the release of the podcast on Saturday, December 17, one of many questioned, "There appears to be a desperate naked attempt to distract the public and direct the conversation down 1,000 paths. There is only one path, one question - who shot Megan The Stallion? If we agree she was shot - then who shot her? Anything else is a clever distraction." Another commented, "I love how ALL these celebs have NOTHING SPECIFICALLY to say against Megan...... but they all trying to influence people AGAINST her. One more user slamming Joe said, "These washed-up rappers love being in women business she must have hurt Joe’s feelings, either name the friends and what happen or STFU cuz this commentary wasn’t needed and I hate y’all supported this clown and made him feel his voice is important."

While many users pointed out the alleged abuse allegations against him. Esther Baxter, who was in a relationship with him accused Joe of allegedly beating her and sitting on her stomach, causing her to have an alleged miscarriage. Though all the claims and charges against Joe were dismissed. Esther Baxter said, as quoted by BET, "We got into an argument and he's just basically ended up choking me so I couldn't breathe...sitting on my stomach for a half hour while I was three months pregnant. [I] went to the hospital where I found out that I lost my daughter." But Joe denied the allegations and said Esther is allegedly lying. He said that he ignored her until she threw his computer on the floor. He said that he "hemmed her up," but denied ever hitting her. "Not at all," he said.
