'It's real theatre': Jon Voight slammed for crying while recalling Trump helping cancer-stricken employee
YOUNGSTOWN, OHIO: Actor Jon Voight, father of Angelina Jolie with whom he shares a tumultuous relationship, recently got trolled for breaking down while taking an interview of Donald Trump as he discussed an incident where the former president offered to pay for cancer treatments for a golf course employee. One wrote, "I used to admire Jon Voight as an actor but he's gone MAGA and that's a shame."
The premiere of Voight's new documentary with Trump celebrating the historic Abraham Accords aired on Sunday, September 19, on Newsmax. The program, ‘Israel & The Abraham Accords,' detailed the role Trump and his administration played in the peace agreement between Israel and its Arab neighbors, including the UAE and Bahrain. The 21-minute 36-second interview started with Voight saying, "In 2020, the most significant advancement toward peace in the Middle East was formed. It was an agreement that created relationships in a manner that had never been attempted before and it has achieved results that have exceeded all expectations — and chances are, you've never even heard of it." At one point in the interview, Voight got choked up recalling a story to Trump he had once heard about him that how he helped a woman named Sally, who Trump apparently knew was going through cancer treatment. Voight said, "See? I'm getting emotional. This is from the - you keep saying the champ, can't watch the champ without crying. Well I can't go through this story without crying." And added, "You said let me take care of the - take care of the, whatever it's gonna cost. That's who you are."
