'We’ve got your back': Internet rejoices as Katie Hobbs flips Arizona for Dems after close battle with Kari Lake
PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Democratic nominee Katie Hobbs has won the race for governor of Arizona, defeating Republican nominee Kari Lake. Hobbs is Arizona’s secretary of state. With 97% of the projected vote in, Hobbs received 50.4% of the vote compared to 49.6% for Lake, who is a former television news anchor.

Hobbs is known for running a low-key campaign against Lake and refusing to debate her. She said she did not wish to give the GOP nominee the chance to spread conspiracy theories and accused Lake of being “only interested in creating a spectacle". Lake called Hobbs a “coward” for refusing to debate.
