Federline, 44, and Jamie, 70, were recently interviewed by Barak, who revealed to the Daily Mail on Sunday, December 18 that the two men "are again speaking to each other once again" following a tumultuous period in their relationship.

After the patriarch of the Spears family allegedly mistreated Federline's grandson Sean Preston, who the former backup dancer shares with Britney, Federline got a restraining order against Jamie in September 2019. The protection order barred Jamie from visiting Preston, 17, and Jayden James, 16, the other son of the former spouse, for three years, even though he was not charged criminally for the incident, per reported by Page Six.

“I miss my two boys really, really bad. I do,” Jamie told Barak in his first interview in a decade. “We were very, very close. … It’s been a tough three years without them.” Jamie described his family as “a mess,” adding, “All I can say is that most people don’t have a clue what the truth is.”

Nevertheless, people were quick to comment on social media about Kevin and Jamie working together, with one questioning, "Is this a joke?" A second tweeted, "the question is someone going to buy him?? everything he has done in his life is a failure. the only reason he lives well is Britney's money and the fact that she's been trapped in a conservatorship. 1/2" A third chimed in saying, "Well I imagine that there was probably an agreement during the cship about what he could publically, but now..." Another wrote, "Milking Britney’s name is the only career they ever had and they will continue to do so til the end of time." "Y’all we told him to pay his own damn bills… we should have expected this," said a fifth. Another posted, "He only knows how to live off B money."

For the Spears family, the last few years have been anything from calm. Britney, 41, accused her father of abuse before a Los Angeles judge ended the singer's conservatorship in November 2021. Jamie has denied guilt, telling Barak that he does not “know if [Britney would] be alive” if he hadn't taken charge of her personal, financial, and medical issues in February 2008, during the Grammy Award winner's widely reported personal troubles.

Britney and her devoted following, however, have a different take on the matter and claim that Jamie abused his authority as his daughter's conservator to amass millions of dollars from her estate.
