AUGUSTA, KANSAS: A woman who killed late actress Kirstie Alley's mother in an alcohol-fueled car crash and sent her father to the hospital in critical condition in 1981 stated that she wants “nothing but peace” for the 'Cheer' star who died Monday, December 5, 2022, of colon cancer at age of 71. “I send her nothing but peace, and prayers for her family,” Cherrie White, 68, told the New York Post

At the time, a young Alley had reportedly completed her fourth audition for 'Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan' when she received a call from her sister Collette on Friday, October 23, 1981, about their parents' car crash. She headed home to Kansas only to find out from Paramount that the studio wanted to see her that Monday, claimed a 1982 report in People magazine. However, since her mother Lillian Alley's funeral was scheduled for Tuesday at Zion United Methodist Church in Wichita, Alley told her agent, "No way,” despite her sister trying to change her mind.
