LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The woman who reportedly killed Kirstie Alley's mother in 1981 in a car crash begged to meet the late actress years before her death at 71. Cherrie White, who crashed into Alley's parents' car while driving drunk, requested to meet the 'Cheer' star years before her death, however, the actress declined to do so. "That night is always on my mind and I'm so sorry for what happened," White revealed in 2019, adding, "I wish I could go back and change everything, but I cannot."

According to RadarOnline, the accident occurred on October 23, 1981, when White hit Alley's parents' car while she was on her way home from work at the Boeing aircraft plant in Wichita, Kansas, following a messy divorce. The star's mother, Lillian Maxine, also known as "Mickie", was thrown out of the vehicle and died. Her father Bob was badly injured but later recovered.
