Yoni Barrios: Las Vegas knife killer worked as a STRIPPER, got enraged when mocked by showgirls

According to one of Barrios's former friend, who wanted to remain anonymous, the 32-year-old had worked previously as a stripper at gay bars in the past and had never ''held down a regular job.'' The source added that he hung around men and women who showed the slightest romantic interest in him, and though they believed he was straight, but for cash he would go with men too, reported the New York Post.

It is alleged that he was in the city to get work as a chef and showed off his knife to a group of women that posed for pictures dressed as showgirls at the famous Strip. When a few of them were uncomfortable in his presence with the knife, he got furious and decided to stab showgirl, Maris Digiovanni, 30, in the heart and eyewitness Brent Hallet, 47, with a kitchen knife close to the Wynn hotel.

Barrios went on a rampage stabbing six other people, which included showgirls Anna Westby and Victoria Cayetano. Ironically, one of his posts on Instagram read, “Life teaches us to make good use of the time … while time teaches us the value of life … so be a good person but don’t waist (sic) time to prove it,” the report said.

In an interview with Los Angeles Spanish station Telemundo 52, he had told the camera crew he had lost everything he had and is currently homeless, just two days before his killing spree. He had added that he got a prescription from a pharmacy in Hollywood and that may have ''affected his brain.''

Barrios’ last Facebook post, made just a day before he carried out the series of attacks, hailed the notorious biker gang Mongrel Mob, which was reportedly involved in violent murders in New Zealand, as per the report.

The alleged killer told police that his action was triggered by a few showgirls who mocked and laughed at his clothing, which enraged him. “Barrios said he became angry and stabbed one of the women [Digiovanni] in the chest after which he began stabbing the other women in the group as they ran away,” as per the police report. “Barrios started running and looking for groups of people so he could ‘let the anger out.'”

The man is held for two counts of murder and six counts of attempted murder, and is kept in Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas on a no bail hold. He is scheduled to be arraigned and appear in court on Jan 12, 2023, for a hearing.
