DENVER, COLORADO: An ex-baseball player has come under fire for allegedly implying to have a sexual relationship with a defeated GOP candidate in a dejected consolation tweet. Lenny Dykstra, a former outfielder for the MLB, was heavily criticized on Twitter after he asked Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert to "DM" him on Twitter while she is running for a seat in Congress against a Democrat.

The Mets player, widely known by his stage name "Nails", began the provocative tweet by expressing his regret over her defeat in the midterm elections. The official winner has not yet been disclosed though. According to The Hill, the election was still very close as of Wednesday night, with Boebert trailing by just 62 votes. Nevertheless, Dykstra offered to be there for her if the "red wave" didn't go in her favor.
