Grace also broke her silence regarding the film getting shelved. Acccording to reports, after Zaslav joined as the CEO, his first step was completely changing the previous plan and strategy of dropping films on both HBO Max and theaters simultaneously. Zaslav’s focus was more on the films that would have a theatrical release and then make their way to the streaming service. As of now, he has already canceled several projects including 'Scoob!'.

The movie, which was supposed to release in late 2022, would have ranked among the most expensive cinematic castoffs ever. "It’s a DC disaster," a source told New York Post adding that, “They think an unspeakable ‘Batgirl’ is going to be irredeemable.” Meanwhile, fans took to Twitter to slam the makers.
