When will Lil Wayne drop ‘Tha CARTER VI’? Rapper teases album, fans ‘hope VI actually delivers’
TORONTO, CANADA: Drake after postponing his Young Money reunion for OVO Fest 2022 due to Covid finally landed on stage with his former label mates Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne. The trio over the weekend belted out some of their biggest hits but the highlight of the evening turned out to be rap icon Lil Wayne's announcment of the sixth installment of ‘Tha Carter’ album series.
On the final night of Drake’s fest at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage, Lil Wayne took the opportunity to tease his loyal fans with ‘Tha Carter VI’, quickly sending the live audience into a meltdown. Social media users too got elated with the news, however, some wondered if Lil Wayne had the same fire. Wayne, who also goes by the name of Lil Tunechi, dropped ‘Tha Carter V’ in September 2018. It featured guest appearances from Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott, Snoop Dogg, and a few others.

When will Lil Wayne drop ‘Tha CARTER VI’?
Lil Wayne while performing his set during the Young Money reunion paused his performance for a while and told the audience, “I’m working on Tha Carter VI, coming soon” While he made the big announcement, a huge still image flashed on the screen that simply read, “THA CARTER VI.”
If this was not enough, the 39-year-old rapper after wrapping up the show took to his Instagram stories and reiterated the announcement. Talking to his fans while sitting in a sprinter van, the acclaimed hip-hop artist thanked his fans who attended the show and stated, “What up, y’all, Tunechi here. Thank you. [I] ain’t s**t without you” adding, “I’m not sure if you heard, but Carter VI is on the way.” Wayne concluded the brief message with a sinister laugh while rocking a gold OVO owl chain. Wayne is yet to share the official release date and tracklist of the album. MEAWW will keep you posted.
