Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown has been arrested on criminal speeding charges. Brown was acquired by Arizona in a draft-day trade with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason. He was arrested on Wednesday, August 4, at 7:05 am heading southbound on Loop 101 driving in an HOV lane, according to DPS spokesman Bart Graves. He was later taken to Maricopa County Jail.
“We are aware of the situation regarding Hollywood Brown and have reported it to the NFL office as required. We will comment further as appropriate,” the Cardinals announced in a statement, according to KTAR News 92.3 FM and Arizona Sports. The news of his arrest was confirmed to the publication by the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Arizona Sports’ John Gambadoro said that Brown registered at a speed of 126 miles per hour.
