LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix’s hit series 'Stranger Things' will begin shooting for its final season at the end of this year, per its official schedule. After making a name for himself in the director's chair with the 'Cheaper by the Dozen' and 'Pink Panther' remakes and 'Night at the Museum,' Levy began building an impressive filmography as a producer, helping with everything from the Oscar-nominated Arrival to Tim Allen's 'Last Man Standing.' Levy has rise to further prominence by helping produce Netflix's 'Stranger Things,' on which he has directed multiple episodes. For his recent collaborations with Ryan Reynolds on 'Free Guy,' 'The Adam Project,' and the upcoming 'Deadpool 3.' 'Deadpool 3' will also star Hugh Jackman's 'Wolverine' in the movie. Safe to say, Levy seems to have picked his favorite actor to work with clearly.

In a recent interview with Collider for the Disney+ 'Night at the Museum' animated movie, Shawn Levy offered updates on both 'Stranger Things' Season 5 and 'Deadpool 3.' The filmmaker revealed that both projects will actually be in production simultaneously and that one of his biggest points during discussions with Reynolds and Marvel Studios was that he be allotted time to film at least one episode of the final season for the Netflix series.

He said, "In fact, one of the first conversations I had with Ryan Reynolds and Marvel when we started talking about 'Deadpool' was the fact that it was inevitably going to overlap in some way and at some point with the final season of 'Stranger Things.' And it is really important to me to direct at least one episode in the last season. Part of why I feel so close to the Duffers and our cast is that I’ve been lucky to be involved directorially, which is a unique connection and creative intimacy. Anyway, it’s very much my intention to direct at least one episode of 'Stranger Things 5,' and everyone involved is being really supportive and collaborative in figuring out the scheduling aspects of how I can do that."

Currently, 'Deadpool 3' is set to start production next May. It’s not known when exactly 'Stranger Things' is starting back up, but early next year is probably a safe bet.

It would give Shawn Levy just enough time to squeeze in an episode at the start of the season. Though, given how long 'Stranger Things' was in production for its fourth season, the director could possibly even wait until after his next bout with Ryan Reynolds to hop aboard the Hawkins train.
