MOSCOW, IDAHO: The front door of the house where the four University of Idaho students were brutally murdered was allegedly left wide open hours after the killings. Ethan Chapin, 20, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Madison Mogen, 21, were stabbed to death on November 13, 2022, in an off-campus housing unit that showed no signs of any break-in.

However, a neighbor reportedly revealed that the front door, which gives access to the floor where two of the victims' roommates were staying, was open at 8:30 am on the day of the killings. Police previously noted that they believe the murder took place around 3 and 4 am. They further informed that the bodies of Madison and Kaylee were found on the house's third floor, while Xana and her boyfriend Ethan's bodies were discovered on the second floor.
