LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Tom Sturridge starring 'The Sandman' series' new episodes which would have been the second part of the series will not be called the second season of the popular fantasy drama. After months of speculation, Netflix finally renewed 'The Sandman' for a new batch of episodes earlier this fall. The series became a smash hit after it was released on the streaming giant on August 5, 2022. The DC character, Dream/Morpheus played by Sturridge was loved by fans all over the globe.

When 'The Sandman' announced it was being renewed for a second season, you may have noticed that they didn't actually call it season 2. They referred to it as "a continuation of 'The Sandman' world," not clarifying the number of episodes or exactly how much of the source material would be covered on Netflix. For most adaptations, this would be an easy question, but because 'The Sandman' comics are split into volumes of varying length and structure, there are a lot of different approaches the show can take but one never knows.
