EAST HARLEM, NEW YORK CITY: An off-duty NYPD cop was taking a nap in his car between shifts in East Harlem on New Year's Day when he was shot in his head. His car was parked in the 25th precinct parking lot and around 6 am in the morning,  the firing took place. The bullet shattered the car's glass and injured the officer.

This officer, identified as Keith, was assisted by a sergeant from the precinct and taken to the New York Presbyterian Hospital to check for any severe injuries and treatment.
