Troll targeting Piers Morgan and son Spencer with death threats arrested
Last year an online troll sent death threats to Piers Morgan and his son Spencer saying, 'you're getting killed'. Reportedly, the man responsible has been arrested under the Malicious Communications Act. When TV star Piers Morgan, 56, was tagged in the comment with the death threat, he decided to report it to the police. Officers from the country's two biggest police forces were assigned to this case that saw both Piers Morgan and his eldest son Spencer as victims of online death threats.
Piers Morgan said, "People think it’s perfectly OK to make death threats to public figures on social media but it’s not — there has to be a line drawn, especially when family members are targeted." He added, "That’s why I reported it and I am grateful to the Met Police and Greater Manchester Police for taking it so seriously.”
